Safer Spaces

A recently-launched collaborative project is Safer Spaces in which Revive Knysna has joined forces with Allsound Security, Knysna CCTV project & several local businesses to not only enhance the aesthetics of Grey Street but also ensure the safety of residents & visitors alike.

Allsound is improving security by installing surveillance cameras & increasing patrols. Meanwhile, Revive Knysna has been clearing shrubberies to create safe green spaces.

Brand new waste bins have been designed which are going to the Municipality for approval. It is hoped that these will be rolled out across the CBD using Grey Street as a pilot. Revive Knysna would like buy-ins from local businesses & communities to make this a reality. One solar light has been installed as a trial & we hope to roll out more as & when businesses support the project.

Grey Street is the pilot project of what is hoped will be an expansion into Main Street & Queen Street to make Knysna town centre much safer & more appealing..
